Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

CTET Eligibility Criteria (Primary Level: Class I to V) Requirements
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks Passed or appearing in a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 45% marks Passed or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) as per NCTE (2002) regulations.
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks Passed or appearing in a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks Passed or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
CTET Eligibility Criteria (Junior Level: Class VI to VIII) Requirements
Graduation Passed or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
Graduation with 50% marks Passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
Graduation with 45% marks Passed or appearing in B.Ed as per NCTE norms and regulations.
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks Passed or appearing in a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
Graduation with 50% marks Passed or appearing in B.Ed (Special Education).
B.Ed. Program (NCTE recognized) Eligible to appear for TET/CTET. Candidates pursuing a teacher education course as per NCTE or RCI norms are also eligible.
Post-Graduation with 55% marks Passed or appearing in a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed program.

CTET Exam Pattern

The CTET 2024 exam includes two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Each paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with 1 mark awarded for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Both exams are conducted in offline mode (pen-and-paper-based).

The Paper I exam has five sections, each consisting of 30 questions, making up a total of 150 questions. Each question carries 1 mark. The total time allotted is 2.5 hours.
