CTET Cut Off
The CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) cut-off is the minimum score that candidates must achieve to qualify for the exam. The cut-off score is determined based on factors like the number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the paper, and available teaching positions. Below is a detailed explanation of the CTET cut-off:
CTET Qualifying Marks (Minimum Cut-Off Marks)
The general qualifying mark for CTET is 60%. This means:
- Candidates who score 60% or more in the exam are considered CTET qualified.
- However, different categories of candidates may receive relaxation in the qualifying marks.
Category | Minimum Percentage Required | Minimum Marks (Out of 150) |
---|---|---|
General | 60% | 90 |
OBC/SC/ST | 55% (relaxation of 5%) | 82.5 (rounded off to 82) |
PwD (Differently-abled) | 55% (may vary based on state norms) | 82.5 (rounded off to 82) |
Relaxation for Reserved Categories
As per the guidelines of the government:
- OBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.
- This means reserved category candidates need to score 82 out of 150 marks (55%) to qualify for the CTET exam.
CTET Validity of Certificate
- The CTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.
- Candidates can appear for the CTET exam as many times as they want to improve their score, since there is no restriction on the number of attempts.
What Happens After Meeting the Cut-Off?
- Once a candidate clears the cut-off, they are awarded the CTET certificate.
- This certificate is mandatory for applying to teaching positions in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs), and schools under the administrative control of the Central Government.
- State government and private schools also accept CTET scores for recruitment.
